Dear Families, Welcome to Camp Three Tree! We are so excited for these three days of connection, fun, and community. Our time together is entirely focused on the kids and teens, giving them a vibrant space to learn, try new things, and experience true joy and enthusiasm. Grounded in purposeful play, the weekend is designed for them to laugh, explore, and have a wonderful time while naturally learning, building confidence, and developing strong peer relationships. Guiding the programming this weekend is an incredible team. We have been working alongside your family for over 30 years, and that deep history is the core of the Camp Three Tree legacy. Because of that long relationship, these exceptional educators aren’t just highly capable leaders; they are trusted partners who deeply understand your family’s unique values. They are entirely dedicated to creating a supportive, safe, and dynamic environment, expertly meeting the kids where they are and ensuring each child and teen has a wonderful time throughout our time together. Cassidy Gatz

Adminstrative Assistant

Full Bio Cassidy earned an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Pierce College in Lakewood, Washington. She was previously the Lead Preschool Teacher at Milgard Child Development Center in Tacoma, WA. Cassidy is a frequent professional development presenter and has led workshops at various Early Childhood conferences around Washington state. She has a range of responsibilities within the Family Biz Kids organization as a lead Educator, Administrative Assistant, and a member of the executive management team. When Cassidy is not working with young children, she loves spending time at home, going on road trips, crocheting, and spending quality time with her husband, friends, and family.

Claire Smith

Infants

Full Bio Claire earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies from the University of Washington. She has over ten years of experience working with children from birth to age 10. She has gained this experience in a variety of settings, including as a preschool teacher, a camp counselor, and the assistant director of a before- and after-school program. Claire currently works as a center supervisor for a Head Start program in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. She is passionate about supporting children and families and helping them thrive. In her free time, Claire enjoys spending time in nature. She loves hiking, kayaking, and skiing.

Kendra Harrison

Toddlers

Full Bio Kendra holds a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development and Family Relations with a minor in Developmental Psychology from the University of Idaho. She worked in child behavioral health before finding a passion for educating young children and their families. Kendra currently teaches preschool-aged children through North Idaho College Head Start. Alongside her teaching career, Kendra is also a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician and Safe Sleep Educator. She teaches a monthly Car Seat 101 class for parents through the non-profit Safe Start. While education is her passion, Kendra also enjoys spending time in nature with her family through gardening and exploring the local forests and lakes. She also loves reading and sharing that love of books through early literacy.

Ashley Estrella

Twos

Full Bio Ashley graduated from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development. She continued at San Jose State and earned her Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential. Over the last nine years, she has taught both kindergarten and preschool. She is passionate about early childhood education and play-based learning. She believes "play is the work of childhood" and enjoys finding ways to encourage exploration and allow learning to thrive from children's curiosities. Outside of teaching, Ashley enjoys the outdoors, baking, and spending time with her husband and three daughters.

Katie Brown

3-5 Year-Olds

Full Bio Katie holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University. She is currently an Early Childhood Professional serving families across Northern Idaho. Katie began working with children at an early age through 4-H. She developed an enthusiasm for education as she transitioned into teaching in early childhood educational settings and working with the families of very young children within her community. Katie is passionate about early learning, high-quality education, and community involvement. She advocates for these causes through her volunteer work with Safe Start and the Northwest Infant Survival and SIDS Alliance, where she served as President of the Board of Directors for 5 years. Katie also volunteers her time and expertise as a Safe Sleep Educator and Child Passenger Safety Technician Instructor.

Amethyst Morris

6-8 Year Olds

Full Bio Amethyst holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a Literacy endorsement from Lewis-Clark State College. Her deep understanding of literacy gives her a unique lens for helping children find their voice, whether they are diving into a new book or leading a team project. Amethyst has five years of classroom teaching experience spanning first grade, fourth grade, and online fifth grade. Currently a first-grade teacher, she is in her third year with Family Biz Kids, where she utilizes a play- and project-based approach to turn curriculum concepts into hands-on camp adventures. Amethyst is a wife and mother of four. Her personal interests reflect her high-energy spirit: she is a photographer, gamer, and avid reader, happiest in the great outdoors. Whether she’s jet skiing, camping, or hiking with her Golden Retriever.

Megan Adams

9-10 Year-Olds

Full Bio Megan holds a Master of Arts in English Language Learning from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies (K-8) Education from the Same Institution. She is currently a 5th-grade teacher. Megan has worked with children of all ages. She is passionate about helping every child learn, grow, and find what learning style works best for them. Megan strongly believes every child is unique and can learn to be whatever they put their minds to. She also believes play is vital to any child's development and learning. In her free time, Megan enjoys hiking, camping, and being outdoors with her husband and two kids. She also really enjoys movies, reading, and quality family time.

Maryalice DeAngelis

11-13 Year Olds

Full Bio Maryalice maintains multiple certificates, including a Master of Science in Environmental Studies from Antioch University New England and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Science Education from SUNY Oneonta. Maryalice currently teaches upper elementary students in Colorado. She specializes in bringing experiential education and powerful, relevant, and student-driven learning experiences to her 10- to 11-year-old students. Maryalice is certified in lifeguarding, first aid, CPR, and scuba diving. Throughout her summers at various summer camp settings, she has served as a head counselor, program director, athletic director, environmental educator, and garden coordinator. Maryalice is an animal lover who enjoys spending quality time with the horses, cats, and dogs on the family farm. Like many Coloradoans, she enjoys hiking and exploring the Rocky Mountains. Her other hobbies include biking, baking, traveling, and yoga.

Rachel Hoey

Teens

Full Bio Rachel holds a Master of Arts in Theatre from San Diego State University, where she has taught Creative Drama and Theatre for Young Audiences as a lecturer. Rachel earned her Master of Fine Arts in Directing from Indiana University and was an adjunct professor of acting and directing. Rachel is currently a professor of acting and directing at Slippery Rock University. She has trained at Second City West Hollywood, Steppenwolf West, and the British American Drama Academy. Rachel has several years of experience as a K-12 performing arts teacher, directing musicals/plays, and developing arts-integrated STEAM lessons for companies and La Jolla Playhouse, Playwrights Project, and Arts for Lawrence. She loves to bring those creative activities to the surface and teach kids to create strong community bonds through experiential activities! For the past decade, Rachel has leveraged her theater background and experience working with children in various roles within Family Biz Kids programs.

Chelsea Wilson

Specialist

Full Bio Chelsea is a graduate of Texas A&M and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutritional Sciences and an Accelerated Teacher certification. She is a trauma-informed Yoga instructor. In addition to her Yoga classes, Chelsea teaches aerobics, dance, and nutrition classes in Coronado, CA. Chelsea enjoys teaching, especially her experiences as a camp counselor. She has worked with Family Biz Kids for the past 17 years. Family Biz Kids allows her to utilize her nutrition, education, dance, and fitness backgrounds to motivate kids to pursue a higher quality of life in a fun and safe environment! Chelsea’s interests include fitness, yoga, nutrition, authoring children’s cookbooks, health promotion, reading, surfing, and meeting new people!
